How we got Annabelle

Im working on about 3 different projects right now - I keep bouncing from project to project! So while I finish those up, Im sharing a little more about us!

3 years ago, this week, we adopted Annabelle, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share a little more about her!

David and I were casually browsing on Petfinder for a dog and after we saw the above photos we were sold! How could you say no to this face?? We contacted her foster mom and arranged to meet her a few days later at an adoption event. It was love at first sight!

3 years later (moving twice and living in three states (TN, CA, and OH) (almost ... in a few weeks) we couldnt imagine our family without her!

Heres Annabelles story ... she was dropped on the side of the road at 4 weeks with her brother and was thankfully picked up by a good samaritan and brought to Almost Home - a foster organization that takes pets from shelters and places them in foster homes while waiting for their forever homes.

just after we adopted annabelle - her foster mom said that she loved her crate,
we got her one right away and she LOVED it!! I think only puppies can sleep like this :)

in my parents backyard after her first road trip to MD
Annabelle saying "I wanna play!!!"

Her brother was adopted at 8 weeks and we adopted Annabelle at 10 weeks. We are still in contact with her foster mom through email and photo updates!

Adopting through Almost Home was such a great experience for us - everyone was so great to work with and you can tell that they truly care about the animals.

a more recent pic of annabelle and her brother, Henry

Annabelle loves life, she is the happiest dog I know (I challenge anyone to find a happier dog :), and she puts a smile on our faces every day.

We arent sure of her exact mix, but we think Beagle, long hair Jack Russell Terrier. Or as I like to say, Jack Reagle.

Im definitely not opposed to responsible breeding, but we had such a great experience adopting, Id do it again and again! There are so many great pets waiting for their forever home, if youre looking to add to your family, check out Petfinder and if you are in East Tennessee, take a look at Almost Home!
